Why the sudden rise and drop of price in minutes

Noticed my main bag of crytpo in the space of 5 mins went from 2.35 to 2.50 with some 20 k and above sells and buys then back down to 2.30 odd just now shot up to 2.60 with a similar pattern is this normal as I haven’t seen such volatility in the space of such a short time or am I just a newb
