Usually it’s about who you know. There are tons of pump and dumps out there that say they have an amazing product that they’re building, have or claim to have funding from big players to drive fomo, and then they rug pull. The goal is to have their group of friends who are “in on it” and can shill until enough retail investors come in and give them “exit liquidity”. A lot of these guys work on Telegram since they can delete the conversation and be mostly untraceable.

I browse on the coinGecko app, under search and “Recently Added” They will give details and also notes if the coin is a possible scam. I also like the way the layout is for the price / market cap, and performance broken up by hour, 24H, 7D, 1M, 3m, 1Y, Max with green or red indicators and percentages. Its really easy to read.
