Chang Hard Fork Question

I am trying to read up on the chang hard fork, but I am struggling to find clear information on this question. Will the Ada crypto change when the hard fork happens like bitcoin and bitcoin cash for example? (if thats correct?). If it changes do I need to move it to an exchange to be issued replacement with the new currency? is there even a new currency? or changed version? I am currently store in the daedalus wallet. Im not sure if that helps or is needed info to answer my question. apologies for the ignorance and all help is greatly appreciated.

Your tokens aren’t stored in Daedalus, they are stored on chain. You can access them with any wallet you choose, even a lite wallet. Which I highly recommend doing.

Other than that, there is really nothing to worry about. The network will be upgraded, but you won’t have to do a thing. Despite the name hard fork, there will not be a split in the network as is traditionally the case with other badly designed networks. As a token holder you will not notice much in day to day things. But the network will be more ready for the future after this upgrade.

The answer is short and sweet: you don’t need to do anything.

Cardano’s hard forks aren’t like other chains.

Cardano has a special technology called hard fork combinator. This means that you as a user don’t have to do anything, ADA stays as ADA.
