Need some advice as a total beginner
I’ve never touched crypto before and really want to get into it. I’ve been in stocks and am getting curious about crypto currencies. What brokerage or app should I use as a beginner. I think I’m going to play it safe and just buy BTC and hold for a long time. Thank you!
Some of the places I have bought bitcoin without any issues are Kraken, UpHold, Coinbase, PayPal, CashApp, Venmo & even RobinHood. They are all pretty easy to figure out.

BTC is the safest bet, but even that has much higher volatility than conventional investments like stock.
Binance, ByBit and Coinbase are the largest exchanges. If you use one of them you are less likely to lose your coins to bankruptcy or hacks (e.g. ByBit just got hacked recently and refunded holders).
I personally take my coins off the exchanges and keep them in a Tangem wallet. Prefer they be in my hands than some big company.
