Returning to Crypto

So I’m just getting back into crypto after being away from the markets for a good few years due to some personal reasons. I’m now back on my feet and back into stable employment. I currently have a small amount each month that I want to allocate to building my portfolio back up. I’m just looking for some advice on some coins to look into to set up a small recurring buy in. While I was away from the market I’ve heard about a few different newer/smaller projects however after doing some research they’ve all turned out to be pump & dump. Are there any coins that would be worth looking into? I’m happy to do my own research before committing, I’m just looking for a good starting point in the current market. Thanks in advance
