Is Bitcoin decoupling from stocks?
Lately it feels like BTC is not following stocks the same way it used to. A few months ago it was almost 1:1 with S&P and Nasdaq, now the correlation looks much weaker. At the same time Bitcoin seems to be moving a little closer to gold, which makes me think maybe people are starting to see it again as a hedge against all the macro chaos.
Not sure if this is something real or just noise. Could be etf flows, could be the way institutions are treating it differently, or maybe just random market moves. What do you guys think is this a sign of Bitcoin growing up into a macro hedgе, or just a temporary thing?
Temporary. Bitcoin absolutely will dump to oblivion in a bear market / recession and lose 50% value again. It’s a hedge against inflation until everyone sells because they need cash to actually but things. There is no guarantee that BTC will return to its value or maintain value. It is still a speculative high-risk asset that is the first to be dumped during tough times. For all we know, BTC might not even be the number one crypto a year from now.
