Can somebody explain pre-market listings to me please?

So I made a post about this yesterday enquiring about the upcoming listing of the hamster Kombat telegram game token, however, I’ve just seen you can view it via pre-market on the exchange I use it’s getting listed on today. I don’t understand how people are able to trade it pre-market? The pre market price as posted by the exchange on twitter was 0.0096 yet now over the past couple days it’s being going up to 0.011 and as high as 0.015. I don’t get this? There’s no option to buy the token so I don’t get how people have been able to buying and trading this before the listing?

It gives you the option to ‘post order’ but that seems kind of risky to me and so staying away from that

Yes this is me trying to understand as much as possible to weigh up trying to profit from this game token listing no hate please. I just want to understand what I’ve laid out above

it’s just speculation. there’s also things like aevo, hyperliquid, and whales market that allow you to trade pre market tokens. a lot of exchanges are joining in on the action. you’re not actually trading spot (whales market is a bit different) but rather perps so you’re just longing or shorting a synthetic speculative price
