What’s wrong with cutting losses and buying back in at a lower prices?

I’m a new person and not the smartest.. just a question. I understand it’s a gamble, haven’t been here long at all.. been a spectator for a while Past couple sundays have been dropping a bit, along with these tariffs… bad news.. hodl makes sense.. but if you were to cut out this morning (like I did) before gets worse and buy back in at a lower prices as it drops, what’s the big deal? Isn’t that smarter than having ‘diamond hands’ and losing all of it. Lowering your average price that you bought in at would be smart for obvious bad news with no clear end of a drop. Right?

If you’ve bought at a higher price, and you sell, you’ve lost money. Plus, how do you know it’ll go lower? You might sell, then it’ll increase and you’ll have to buy back in at a high price
