Why do Cardano memecoin market caps seem way way way exaggerated

Can someone explain? I’ve seen coins with a supposed 15mil ADA market cap drop 15% because one person sold 30k worth. Yes everyone talks about MC like it’s accurate.

Market cap is only a useful metric if there is liquidity behind it. Otherwise, it’s a trap! Without liquidity, the bigger (market cap) they are, the bigger they fall!

Bigger the liquidity pools the less the movement mate, if it has 1Million MK and $10 in liquidity good luck lol, if it’s like a decent ratio like 5% or more it’s probably fine sorta depends a bit

Market cap does not imply liquidity.

It’s almost impossible to make a metric that makes this clear because an order book is hidden.

On most dex’s, you can assume that the curves they use for trading and their existing coins on both sides of the pair provide an adequate indication of market depth, and how much money it takes to move the market.

Market cap is just the last order price multiplied by the supply. It’s only really a useful metric for highly liquid markets.
