Why would anyone buy Tether USDC

This crypto named Tether has not went over a penny or under a penny in 6 years when they call it a stable coin they are not kidding. So why would anyone want this. It appears to me to be useless. It’s like a wallet. If you put 5000.00 in it I’m sure the same amount will be there next month.
