What happens when we run out of crypto symbols?
What happens when we run out of crypto symbols?
The title says it all. When we run out of all the possible crypto symbols there are, do we just not get any new crypto tokens or do we invent a new system that allows for a bigger scale of symbols? Is this new system already in development? Also, does anyone here know how many combinations are there currently available to achieve? As far as I know symbols can be only 3 and 4 chars long but what characters are allowed I’m not sure of
its too risky to rely on just “any length of symbol characters”, always double check it with contract address to be certain.
If you mean tickers (BTC, ETH, …), there is no standard that forces a ticker to be 3 or 4 characters. Just think of MATIC. And there is also nothing preventing two currencies from using the same ticker.
